About Emjay Boer Goats
History

In 2010 we were looking for animals to help keep our paddocks clean as part of our bush fire management plan. After our initial purchase of 3 does and a buck, we were totally enamoured with these beautiful animals. We have expanded our herd by acquiring more animals as well as breeding our own.

Property

Nestled in the foothills surrounding Adelaide, our property is exposed to a full range of weather conditions. From a very hot 42+ degrees in summer to a cool 5 degrees in winter. We receive an approximate rainfall of 700mm a year.

We are accredited with the National Johne’s Disease Program MAP (Market Assurance Program) for goats. Our current flock status is Monitored Negative 2.

Genetics

Predominately our genetics are from Karbo as well as some from Terraweena.

We have recently added both Clearday Park and Carrington View does to our stock.

Goals

To consistently breed a better goat.

To improve the overall quality of our animals every season.

To promote Boer Goats in the market place as the goat of choice.

Breeding Philosophy

Using the best to achieve our goals.
